The 2025 edition of our summer workshop enabled us to refine next steps

From 24.-27. May 2025, the entire SuperC collaboration met again at Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Spain. This year’s event saw 55 scientists participating who stem from 20 countries and work at 15 different institutions based in 5 countries. The meeting facilitated in person discussions, we presented our latest results and developed new ideas. With funding now in place for the near future, SuperC is now focusing on achieving our goal to combine machine learning and synthesis efforts to realize a novel high temperature superconductor. We organized numerous small group discussions which were particularly fruitful for making concrete future plans. We also spent time discussing and reviewing our management and operation principles.

Topics this year ranged from machine learning and theory, flat bands, quantum geometry, synthesis efforts, graphite and also included were presentations by The Kavli Foundation and Klaus Tschira Stiftung. Our scientific program was complemented by social activities including rock climbing, swimming, an excursion to nearby Girona as well as a social dinner.

In 2026, our summer workshop will move location to Ponta Delgada, Portugal. In the meantime, we will focus our efforts on producing top class science, making new discoveries and look forward to reconnecting on the Azores next year.

We are immensely grateful to our funders for enabling us to organize this event:

The Kavli Foundation, Klaus Tschira Stiftung, Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation, Keele Foundation and Magnus Ehrnrooth Foundation
