SuperC organized a first get-together from 28. August to 1. September 2023 near Nuuksio National Park in the south of Finland.

The workshop was attended by 30 participants from 12 countries including a few selected guests and was generously sponsored by Institute Q (The Finnish Quantum Institute), AScI (Aalto Science Institute) and the Finnish Foundation of Sciences and Letters (Suomen Tiedeseura).

The four-day program consisted of invited scientific talks by group leaders and junior scientists, as well as hands-on workshop sessions and discussions on various topics. These varied from twisted bilayer graphene to many-body theory and disordered graphite. The scientific program was rounded off by daily social activities designed to bring scientists together and get to know each other.

Overall, the workshop was perceived as a great success by all consortium members and yielded several outcomes: strengthened collaboration and new partnerships, new scientific insights, motivation to engage with the consortium and beyond, and a strengthened sense of community. An online winter workshop is planned for 2024, as well as the next summer workshop organized in August 2024 in Spain.
